Questions about a second opinion
What is a second opinion?
It is an independent review of an existing imaging study by another radiologist. It can clarify the description of findings and address questions about the report.
Is the written report enough?
The actual images are needed for a review. The existing report is useful supporting information but cannot replace the imaging study.
Which format should I use for CT or PET/CT?
A complete set of DICOM files from the clinic or imaging disc is preferred. For PET/CT, both parts of the study are needed. The doctor will explain the transfer method on WhatsApp.
Can two studies be compared?
Yes. Please provide the original images from both studies, their dates and reports, and details of any treatment between them.
How long does a review take?
Within 48 hours after all required materials are received. The doctor will clarify any missing information before starting.
Can I contact you from another city?
Yes, materials can be sent remotely. Start with a WhatsApp message and explain which study was performed.
Does a second opinion replace my treating physician?
No. Your treating physician considers the review alongside symptoms, examination findings and other tests, and makes treatment decisions.
